HAWLEY, Minn. (KFGO) – Hawley Police Officer Scott Steer was officially sworn in as Chief Steer at Monday night’s city council meeting.
He replaces Police Chief Joseph Backlund, who is retiring after 30 years in law enforcement, including nearly a decade leading the Hawley Police Department.
Backlund’s last day on duty is March 28, and the city is wishing both chiefs well in their next chapters.
