CLARISSA, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is searching for a poacher who shot and killed a sandhill crane in Todd County.
Officials said the crane was found north of Clarissa on Sunday following a report of gunfire in the area. A conservation officer confirmed the death of the nesting mother and the destruction of the two eggs she was caring for.
The DNR is asking anyone with information about the crane’s death to contact the Turn in Poachers hotline (800-652-9093).
